Fighting Fascism, Fighting Franco
Scottish Volunteers for Spanish Freedom, 1936-2011
Saturday 15 October, 1.30pm - 6.00pm and 7.00pm - 9.00pm
As well as being a conflict that continues to generate considerable art and argument, the Spanish struggle was one to which Scots made a significant contribution, from volunteers for liberty to support for refugees.
To mark the 75th anniversary of the outbreak of the Spanish Civil War, The Mitchell hosts a special day long event featuring film, music, poetry and politics with Jackie Kay, Laura Marney, Chris Dolan, Daniel Gray and many more.
For more information on each of the sessions click here.
Tickets for either afternoon or evening sessions cost £10/£7 and are available in person at The Glasgow Royal Concert Hall, by phoning 0141 353 8000 or from the Glasgow Libraries website here.
